Hi Everyone,

We hope you are all keeping safe and well during this current environment.

We would like to update you regarding this year’s Carnival and what action we are considering at this current time.

The Carnival this year was/is due to take place on the weekend of the 10th, 11th and 12th July and we would like to advise everyone, that at this moment in time we are not considering taking the drastic decision of cancelling the whole event.   We will re-consider our position at the end of April/May, however, we know that whatever occurs and should we be in a position to put on some event for the community it will not be in the normal 3 day format.   Furthermore it may well be that we have to move the date to sometime in either August or September.   We will endeavour, however,  to put on some kind of event to bring the community together and hopefully bring some happiness, excitement and stability back into the village.

We will also be looking at possibly other events later in the year in order to raise money for  our nominated charity but also to raise funds for the NHS, to thank them for their dedication and selfless support in caring for everyone in the U.K

Kris Dawber - Chairman

Over the last 45 years for three days in July, Adlington Carnival has brought fun, entertainment and laughter to the village. The idea of a Carnival was brought to fruition by local traders, who felt that by putting on such an event it would bring more business and people to the village and also put Adlington on the map.
Over the years many celebrities have appeared on the Jubilee Playing Fields, such as Cilla Black/Frank Bruno/Tommy Cooper/Jack & Vera Duckworth, and more recently Sean Ward/Jeff Hordley/Danny Miller/Lucy Fallon and many others.
We are grateful to all our sponsors who over the 45 years have helped bring these celebrities and other major attractions to Adlington. We are also grateful to all the volunteers who have given their time in order to give the village of Adlington a fun packed weekend.
Without the help of numerous volunteers and sponsors Adlington Carnival would not exist today, We must also thank the people of Adlington & District for their constant support of this event over the years as it is their enthusiasm and attendance over the three days that has allowed the Carnival to carry on, Adlington Carnival is unique as it is one of the few major carnivals that still exist today.
We hope that with the support of sponsors, volunteers Adlington Carnival will continue for another 45 years.
We look forward to seeing you all over the weekend and don’t forget to tell your families and friends about the warm welcome that they will receive from this very special village, not only on the Adlington Carnival weekend but through the year.
