Adlington, Anderton and Heath Charnock are so close together that many visitors believe it to be just one small town. The three villages have been developed so much in the recent years that it is hard to see where the borders are, in fact many locals are unsure where one village ends and another starts. Situated on the very edge of the West Pennine Moors, they are only a short distance from the cities of Manchester and Liverpool, and also the holiday resort of Blackpool, yet on the very edge of the wild splendour of the West Pennine Moors.
